KCA ? INTL FILM FEST BEGINS ON A COLORFUL NOTE!

Director of excellence, chairman of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy is known for pretty good style of conducting the events related to KCA in the last 20 months.

After the seven forms of dances giving start to the inauguration of the first DVD International Film festival of KCA the Karnataka Urban Development Minister, Law and Parliamentary affairs minister S Suresh Kumar was joined by internationally acclaimed Shaji N Karun, Ms Joy Yen cultural counselor of Taiwan embassy in unveiling the emblem of the international film festival.

I was the hard core film watches till 1983 and I am here today because of that reason representing the Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa said S Suresh Kumar in his speech. This is a beautiful and well organized function the minister stated in his speech. Cinema has the power. Watching films like Enter the Dragon the courage imbibes in one. Such is the strength of it he mentioned.

The Taiwan Embassy Ms Joy Yen addressing on the occasion made a precise speech. Her observation that India is a land of IT – that means Information Technology she added IT means – India and Taiwan. Taiwan that has one third of India GDP an island is technically advanced country she said. Through the cinema culture it is possible to exchange the culture. For an Indian story a film is made in Taiwan she disclosed.


The brilliant film maker from down South Kerala state Shaji N Karun also mentioned on the significance of cinema. The world would have been different if there was no cinema. Out of ten in memories of an individual cinema is also one among it he pointed and recalled the awareness this kind of festivals create.

Jayaramaraje Urs secretary of Kannada and culture brought to the notice that the government has released one third of Rs.1 crore grants to KCA. In the coming days the cinema policy and request made by Dr Girish Kasaravalli that a branch of Poona Film Institute will be finalized.

KCA Chairman TS Nagabharana welcomed the gathering; HN Narahari Rao explained the importance of this kind of festival catering to various people.

Dr Jayamala, Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana and Jayanthi were assisted by KFCC President Basanthkumar Patil in releasing the book containing all information of 85 DVD films that are shown from 9th to 20th of November at three places in Bangalore – Suchitra film society, Seva Sadana and Yavanika.

Sneha Nandagopal Bramani troupe has given a neat performance that brought cheer among the attendance. Aparna Vasthare did a fine anchoring of the event.

Registrar of KCA Jayaprakash proposed a vote of thanks.
